There was a familiar face on the field Saturday when TCU beat SMU.It was sophomore quarterback Marcus Jackson who stepped in for redshirt freshman Andy Dalton. Jackson is best known to Frogs fans for his performance in last year's Baylor game, when he replaced Jeff Ballard to spark a 17-7 win in Waco.

His appearance has students debating who the right choice is to play under center Saturday against Colorado State.

Lane Hunt, a freshman premajor, said he thinks Dalton is the better choice.

New dining plan unreasonable

The university's new dining plan will offer all-you-can-eat meals in exchange for all-you-can-pay bills. The dining plan, which will be implemented next fall, will require students to swipe their ID cards at one of two main entry points in the new dining hall and stay there to eat. Though students can ask for any meal once inside, the food doesn't leave.

The logic behind the plan is to create a family-style environment - a sense of community among the students - said Rick Flores, general manager of Dining Services. In reality, Dining Services is merely holding meals hostage.

"We're going to have to play our best football game to this date to be able to win this ball game," Patterson said.

The Frogs head into Saturday's game at 2-2 following a 21-7 victory against SMU. In order to have its first winning streak of the season, Patterson said the team must improve from last week.
