The campus Chick-fil-A Express opened at noon on Thursday and students were eager to “eat mor chikin.”
First-year students Emily Siegers and Brandon Cummings stood at the end of a line that snaked from Chick-fil-A’s counter to its front door.
“We actually expected the line to be much longer,“ said Cummings, a music education major.
Cummings, who ordered a chicken sandwich, said he liked Market Square, but that he was glad to have other options.
“It’s only been three weeks, and we’re already ready for a change of pace for our food,” Siegers, a strategic communication major, said.
Students can pay via cash, credit card, campus cash or Frog Bucks.
However, at the opening, the ID swipe option for Frog Bucks and campus cash was not working. Instead, workers took down the students’ ID numbers and would charge the students later.
The limited menu includes: chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches, spicy chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, grilled market salad, waffle fries and fruit cups.
The breakfast menu options are bacon or sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits, chicken biscuits, spicy chicken biscuits and hashbrowns.
Diet and regular lemonade, diet and regular sweet tea, and soft drinks are among the drink choices.
