True freshman Stephanie Holland had 14 kills and Junior Megan Munce led the team with 34 assists as the TCU volleyball team beat Texas Tech 3-1 to notch its first win of the season Friday night at the University Recreation Center.
TCU got out to a fast start winning the first two sets of the match before Tech got on the board with a 25-18 victory in the third set.
The Frogs would respond, though, and win the fourth set 25-22 to seal the victory and give TCU a win in their first match of the season.
Senior Kristen Hester added 11 kills and had a team high .435 attack percentage.
Junior Sarah Joeckel led TCU with 21 digs.
The Frogs will be back in action for day two of the TCU Tournament Saturday when they take on Grambling State at 1 p.m. before facing Connecticut in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
