The TCU volleyball team awaits a home date with nationally ranked Texas Tuesday, but first they’ll have to hurdle a trio of games this weekend at the Seton Hall Invitational.

The 10-0 Frogs open up play against Boston College at noon Friday then turn around and face New Jersey Institute of Technology at 3 p.m. TCU will close out action in the tournament against host school Seton Hall Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Frogs have won three straight tournaments, the most recent one last weekend at the Villanova Classic in Philadelphia.

Head coach Prentice Lewis said this weekend’s tournament, like the Villanova tournament, would be a tough test for the Frogs.

“It’s going to be very similar [to the Villanova Classic],” Lewis said. “[Seton Hall and NJIT] are going to be very good, and Boston College is extremely athletic.”

Senior Kristen Hester said TCU’s ability to play together has led to much of its early season success.

“We’re playing as a team,” Hester said. “I would trust anybody playing back row, hitting or anything.”

Hester led the Frogs with 13 kills against Baylor Tuesday night and has taken home MVP honors in the last two tournaments.

Notes: TCU’s 3-0 win over Baylor Tuesday gave the team its tenth straight victory and marked the best start in school history. Junior Sarah Joeckel continues to play at a high level. Joeckel was named Libero MVP of the SMU tournament and totaled a team-high 69 digs in last weekend’s Villanova Classic. Despite being undefeated, TCU has yet to receive any votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll. They’ll have a chance to do so Tuesday when eighth-ranked Texas comes to town.

Seton Hall Invitational

Friday: TCU vs. Boston College, noon
    TCU vs. NJIT, 3 p.m.

Saturday: TCU vs. Seton Hall, 1 p.m.

What to look for: 10-0 TCU is off to a record start and will be looking to stay undefeated as well as win their fourth straight tournament.
