The TCU volleyball team will put its undefeated record on the line when it hosts in-state rival Texas tonight at the University Recreation Center.

The 13-0 Frogs are coming off a three-game sweep of the Seton Hall Invitational. TCU beat Boston College, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Seton Hall en route to their fourth straight tournament title this season.

But Texas may be their toughest test yet.

The eighth-ranked Longhorns (6-3) come into Fort Worth having won four straight games, including a sweep of the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational this past weekend and a 3-2 victory over then No. 2 Penn State two Saturdays ago.

But facing nationally-ranked Texas will give TCU an opportunity to crack the top 25 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association coaches’ poll, something they have not done all season.

The Frogs have yet to receive a vote in the AVCA poll, despite having the same record as top-ranked California.

Tonight’s game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on The Mtn..

TCU has had consistent performances from the likes of Kristen Hester, Jordan Raines and Sarah Joeckel all season. But the Frogs got a big boost from sophomore Yvonne Igodan in Saturday’s tournament final against Seton Hall. The Houston native led the Frogs with a career-high 16 kills, while notching seven blocks.

Setter Megan Munce was named Mountain West Player of the Week after averaging 10.46 assists per set and leading the Frogs to a 4-0 record last week. It was the junior’s third career time to win the honor. Munce also took home tournament MVP honors this weekend after racking up 107 assists in three games, including a 41-assist championship game performance.
