TCU lost its first Big 12 Conference road match to the Kansas Jayhawks in three sets (19-25, 13-25, 21-25) on Saturday.

Kansas jumped out to an early lead in the first set with a 7-2 lead that forced the Horned Frogs to call a timeout. Kansas maintained the lead late into the set at 19-13 and took a 1-0 advantage in the match with a 25-19 set win.

In the second set, Kansas never let up and led the Frogs 15-8, causing TCU to call a timeout. TCU couldn't refocus, though, and Kansas charged ahead with a 6-1 run and a 19-9 advantage. The Frogs called a second timeout but could not muster the momentum to take the 25-13 set from Kansas.

After trailing Kansas 15-11 in the third set, the Frogs made a last 3-0 run, pulling the score to within two at 23-21. TCU called a final timeout as Kansas earned a set point, but the Jayhawks ultimately took the match and the set 25-22.

For Kansas, sophomore outside hitter Tiana Dockery led the charge with 14 kills, while junior outside hitter Chelsea Albers finished second on the team with 11 kills. The Jayhawks finished the match with only eight hitting errors. Senior setter Erin McNorton recorded 38 assists.

Senior middle blocker Yvonne Igodan led the Frogs offensively with 10 kills, while junior right-side hitter Stephanie Holland and sophomore outside hitter Macy Capen tied in second with seven kills. Freshman libero Shane Peters led the team defensively with 15 digs, and sophomore setter Alexia Heist recorded 21 assists.

Next, the Frogs will take on West Virginia at home Wednesday. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m., and the match will be televised live on FSSW+.
