The TCU women’s volleyball team will travel to Austin, Texas on Wednesday to take on No. 1 Texas in the second half of Big 12 Conference play.
The Horned Frogs (13-9, 2-6 Big 12) are meeting the Longhorns (15-2, 8-0 Big 12) for the seventh time overall. This is the first time in program history that TCU has faced the No. 1 team in the nation.
TCU lost both matches last week to Oklahoma in five sets on Wednesday and in a sweep by Iowa State on Saturday.
TCU senior middle blocker Yvonne Igodan leads the TCU offense with 213 kills on the season. Sophomore setter Alexia Heist and redshirt freshman setter Trisha Langley have recorded 440 and 340 assists, respectively.
Texas is coming off its fifth sweep in conference play over Kansas State on Saturday. The Longhorns extended their win streak to 11 games with the win and have won 44 consecutive Big 12 matches in their Gregory Gym.
Texas’ freshman setter Chloe Collins was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week, recording 34 assists against the Wildcats. All-Americans in senior outside hitter Bailey and junior outside hitter Haley Eckerman are pacing the Longhorn offense with 154 and 137 kills, respectively.
