Led by juniors Arnau Dachs and Nick Chappell, the TCU men’s tennis team was able to keep their winning streak going against the University of San Francisco and Lamar University Saturday afternoon, winning by scores of 6-1 and 7-0.

Doubles action started on a positive note as Arnau Dachs and Trey Daniel got TCU cruising with an 8-1 win. The pair improve to 4-1 in dual matches for the Frogs.

No. 18 Nick Chappell and Will Stein shut the door on any hopes for the Dons, beating Bernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa, 8-4, at position No. 1 to earn the doubles point.

Freshman Jhonathan Gonzalez struck first for the Frogs’ first singles win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Rick Van Hout. Chappell put TCU ahead 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 victory to set the stage for the clinching match.

Daniel then guaranteed a Frog victory by posting a 6-1, 6-4 win over Germain Bahri to give TCU a 4-0 lead. TCU won to a final score of 6-1, dropping one match.

The 3 p.m. match against Lamar University featured much of the same as the Horned Frogs continued with the momentum gained from the match against USF.

TCU’s duo of Hudson Blake and Rodolfo Bustamante continued their doubles dominance when they dispatched Lamar’s Trey Crysel and Nikita Lis, 8-1.

TCU’s Dachs and Daniel were able to win the doubles point shortly after with an 8-4 win against Mikko Rajamaki and Jeandre Hoogenboezem.

Singles action kicked off with TCU’s Dachs pitching a shutout to Lamar’s Juuso Laitinen, 6-0, 6-0. Gonzalez continued the momentum this weekend in his singles match against Trey Crystel, 6-2, 6-1.

Chappell won the deciding match to assure a Frog victory against Lamar by beating Michael Fuecht, 6-3, 6-3. TCU won with a final score of 7-0 against the Big Red.

TCU’s next action is against the Texas Longhorns at 1 p.m. on March 1.
