TCU volleyball adds new assistant coach

New TCU volleyball director and coach Jill Kramer hired former Texas assistant Brian Wright to serve as an assistant for the Horned Frog volleyball team.

Wright was on the Longhorns’ coaching staff for seven years. During that time, Texas finished every season inside the Top 5.

Before Wright coached the Longhorns, he spent a season as an assistant coach at Southwestern University. He’s also coached club teams that have qualified for the Junior Olympics and the AAU National Championships.

Kramer said she coached with Wright more than 10 years ago in the Lone Star Region High Performance program, and from that experience she knew he was someone she wanted on her coaching staff.

“He is always learning, always growing and has always had a great rapport with his players and colleagues,” Kramer said. “These reasons, and many more, make him the perfect fit for the culture and the vision we have for TCU volleyball.”

Kramer was hired as the new face of the volleyball program on Dec. 29, and Wright is Kramer’s first coaching staff hire.
