The Frogs (16-7, 6-5 Big 12 Conference) started off Saturday’s match down 0-4 in the first set and never caught up with the Cyclones (15-7, 8-3), who led wire-to-wire in an error-plagued match for TCU at home in Fort Worth.
The Frogs lost in three sets, finishing 25-19, 25-21 and 25-17.
TCU was out-blocked 4.5-6.o and was out-killed 35-47.
Outside hitter Ashleigh Martin led the Frogs in kills with eight, but two Cyclones, Morgan Kuhrt and Samara West, totaled twelve kills each to lead the match.
Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer was not pleased with the team’s execution.
“I thought we came in with a solid game plan to attack them up the center of the court, but when you have service errors, those lead to blocking errors, which lead to errors in the passing game,” Kramer said.
“Those errors start a vicious cycle, and I will make sure we come out ready to play in our next two road matches,” she said.
TCU will take on the Baylor Bears in Waco on Wednesday at 7 p.m in their next match.
