The TCU men’s tennis team knew they had one of the toughest weeks of the season to get through in facing three top 25 teams, and they finished strong on Sunday.

No. 2 TCU won all three of those matches, including a 4-0 sweep of No. 9 Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon.

Head coach David Roditi was impressed with the way his team played against the stout competition.

“I’m just proud of our guys,” Roditi said. “It was a tough week. We asked a lot of them. To be playing three top 25 teams in one week, that’s hard. I’m just proud of them.”

TCU quickly won the doubles point off of 6-1 and 6-3 victories.

The Frogs managed to win the final three points without going to a third set in any match.

Trevor Johnson dominated on court six, winning his match 6-2, 6-1. Jerry Lopez also made quick work of his opponent, winning 6-0, 6-4.

No. 61 Guillermo Nunez finished the match off for the Frogs with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.

It wasn’t all easy for the Frogs on Sunday though, as there was windy conditions throughout the match.

“It got a little swirly out there,” Roditi said. “I was really proud of our guys that kept on fighting. You could tell they weren’t very comfortable with the conditions but they just kept hanging in there and making the best of it. That’s the kind of attitude we’re going to need for the rest of the way.”

TCU has three regular season matches left on the year. Next weekend the Frogs travel to Austin to take on Texas. TCU finishes up the season with a home match on April 24 against Baylor and a match in Lubbock on April 24 against Texas Tech.
