TCU alumnus and current St. Louis Cardinals baseball player Matt Carpenter has pledged to donate $10,000 for every homerun he hits for the rest of the 2017 season.
From now till the rest of the season we will donate 10,000 dollars for every Homerun I hit to help aid the relief efforts in Houston

Carpenter announced his plan via twitter, adding that he and his wife “called the Houston area home for most of our lives and our hearts are hurting for those families affected by Hurricane Harvey.”
Carpenter’s teammate, Adam Wainwright, pledged to match Carpenter’s $10,000 donation for each homer.
Because @UncleCharlie50 is a stud in every sense of the word..he has pledged to match the 10,000 for each Homerun I hit #prayingforHouston

For anyone looking to donate, Carpenter suggested looking at the local ABC station in Houston’s relief page, or if you’re a professional baseball pitcher to “throw balls down the middle.”
