The TCU volleyball team was swept in its first Big 12 Conference home match Saturday as Baylor won 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23).

“We gave away way too many string of points as the match progressed,” Kramer said. “We just needed to be more efficient hitting and that caught up to us in the end.”

The Horned Frogs snagged a 20-17 lead in the first set, but the Bears’ outside hitter Katie Staiger rotated into the front row and put down five kills to claim the early advantage.

In the next two sets, TCU continued to struggle to defend against Staiger (17 kills, .412 hitting percentage) and middle blocker Camryn Freiburg, who ended with a .467 hitting percentage for the match.

TCU’s junior middle blocker Anna Walsh racked up another big-number performance (13 kills and 3 blocks) and led the team for the match, but TCU’s total hitting percentage (.207) was almost 10 percent less than Baylor’s (.306).

“I love the way we competed at times; I think at some points we were lacking a little bit,” Kramer said. “We just have to get better at some things. We will get back in the gym and work on it.”

TCU has an upcoming bye week before they travel for their next competition in Lawrence, Kansas, to take on No. 12 Kansas at noon on Saturday, Sept. 30. The game will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports Network.
