TCU has been playing their best tennis of the season lately, as has senior Guillermo Nuñez.
Nuñez earned Big 12 Player of the Week for his performances over the past two matches.
Nuñez fueled the Frogs in a road upset over No. 6 Texas A&M March 20. Nuñez and Alex Rybakov won their doubles match to secure the doubles point for TCU, and Nuñez followed that up with a singles victory over No. 25 Valentin Vacherot 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) to help the Frogs knock off Texas A&M.
TCU welcomed Tulane to town Sunday and Nuñez and Rybakov were well on their way to another victory, but the Frogs had already picked up the doubles point. In singles play, Nuñez downed Tulane’s Hamish Stewart 6-2, 6-4 to help the Frogs earn a 6-1 win.
Nuñez, a Santiago, Chile native, is riding a six-match winning streak in singles and a 7-match winning streak in doubles.
TCU is currently on a six-match winning streak as a team and will take on UT-Arlington Tuesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m.
