The TCU volleyball winning streak continued on Sunday as they defeated the North Dakota Fighting Hawks in four sets (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17).

The team’s loss in the opening set was the first one they had dropped all weekend, a testament to the strong play they have begun the season with.

“North Dakota played some good defense,” head coach Jill Kramer said. “They came out really strong. We were a little fatigued, but I loved the fact that we actually needed to fight through that.”

After the opening set loss, the Horned Frogs came out in the second set with a refocused determination. They held the lead for the entire set until the Fighting Hawks tied it at 21. The team then went on a 4-1 run to win the set.

“Keeping it one point at a time and not getting too ahead of ourselves,” first-year Élan McCall said regarding the motivation boost in the second set.

The team finished strong defensively with a total of 64 kills. Élan McCall (21 kills), Anna Walsh (14 kills) and Sarah Swanson (11 kills) led the team.

McCall has a team-leading 59 kills through her first four college games.

The Horned Frogs hope to continue their winning streak this Friday when they take on Florida State in Fort Collins, Colorado.
