TCU volleyball suffered their third straight loss, falling 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 15-25, 25-20) to No. 25 Colorado State Sunday.
The Horned Frogs dropped the first two sets but came back to win the third, 25-15, setting the stage for a pivotal fourth set. Tied at 20, the Rams would go on a 5-0 run to win the set and the match, ending any chance of a TCU comeback.
Despite the loss, first-year Élan McCall continued to shine. The All-Tournament team member recorded 31 kills and boasted a .349 hitting clip. McCall became the first Horned Frog to have 30 kills in a match since 2000. It was her seventh straight double-digit kill match.
McCall’s 13 digs also gave her her second double-double of the season.
Senior Lexi MacLean and sophomore Dani Dennison also picked up double-digit digs during this match, while first-year Katie Clark had a career-high six blocks.
The team will continue their preseason tournament schedule with next weekend’s Fight in the Fort, featuring home matches against SMU, Louisiana and Montana State. The tournament begins 7 p.m. Thursday.
