For the second time this season, TCU fought hard but could not come up with a victory against No. 6 Texas, this time losing 3-1 (13-25, 25-20, 17-25, 23-25). The loss drops the Frogs’ record away from home to 1-8.
The first set was all Texas from the start. TCU found themselves down 11-5 early and they were never able to close the gap as the Longhorns won 25-13.
Despite the dominance of Texas in the opening set, the Horned Frogs would not back down. Led by a strong offensive start from middle blocker Sarah Swanson, the Frogs went up 14-11 midway through the second set. Their momentum would carry them to a 25-20 win, tying up the match 1-1.
Swanson would finish the match with a .455 hitting clip to go with 12 kills, matching a career-high. She has now hit over .300 in eight matches this season.

The Frogs’ second set success did not carry over to the final two sets, and the Longhorns easily finished the match with a 3-1 victory.
Outside hitter Anna Walsh led TCU with 13 kills in the match.
Setter Tori Dilfer had 39 assists and 11 digs for her fourth double-double in Big 12 play.
Defensive specialist Dani Dennison led the team defensively with 12 total digs.
The Frogs will look to break their three-game losing streak on Saturday when they face Iowa State at home. First serve is set for Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. in the Rickel.
