TCU men’s tennis kicks off conference play Friday against the Baylor Bears.

The Bears sit at No. 6 in the nation with a 17-2 record, including top-15 wins over No. 12 Georgia, No. 3 Mississippi State and No. 11 Illinois. They have a total of nine top-35 wins.

Baylor has only one ranked doubles team, but the team claims the top spot in the ITA polls. Sven Lah and Jimmy Bendeck sit at 9-2 on the season. One of the team’s losses came at the hands of Columbia’s No. 1 doubles team, who TCU bested last week.

TCU and Baylor have had seven mutual opponents, each going 5-2 against those opponents.

In singles, Baylor has had more success with three ranked athletes, but none in the top 30.

As a team, Baylor only has a 4-6 No. 1 singles record on the season with six unfinished matches.

The match begins at 6 p.m. Friday in Waco.
