Their conquest began with a resounding victory over HCU, where they delivered a masterclass performance (21-10, 21-12) that set the tone for the battles to come. Facing off against the formidable No. 11-ranked Hawaii not once, but twice, the duo displayed nerves of steel and tactical prowess that led to back-to-back victories (21-14, 21-19) and (21-14, 16-21, 15-9).

The defining moment came in a showdown against Texas, a match that not only solidified TCU’s 53rd-consecutive home win but also showcased Hamlett and MacTavish’s sheer dominance (21-17, 21-14). The victory resonated beyond the court, reaffirming TCU’s status as the undisputed kings of the Lone Star state with an impeccable 39-0 all-time record against Texas opponents.

Individually, Hailey Hamlett reached a monumental milestone, notching her 75th career win with a performance that epitomized her relentless pursuit of greatness. Alongside MacTavish, the duo’s chemistry and synergy were palpable, culminating in a flawless 6-0 season record that included victories against formidable opponents like then-No. 3 Stanford, then-No. 6 Cal and the aforementioned No. 11-ranked Hawaii.

What sets Hamlett and MacTavish apart is not just their undefeated record but their unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. Throughout the weekend, they lost just one set, a testament to their unyielding focus and determination. Their journey to the CUSA Pair of the Week honor was not without challenges, but they met each obstacle with resilience and grace.

This accolade adds yet another layer of glory to TCU’s already paramount season, marking the fourth time a Horned Frogs pair has been honored as the CUSA Pair of the Week. Hamlett’s previous accolades alongside teammate Anhelina Khmil and MacTavish’s previous nomination with Alex Parkhurst only serve to highlight the depth and talent within TCU’s ranks.

Nearing the end of the stellar 2024 season, one thing remains clear – Hailey Hamlett and Sutton MacTavish are not just a pair; they are a force to be reckoned with, a symbol of TCU’s pursuit of excellence, and to the power of teamwork, skill and determination in the world of beach volleyball.
