No. 2 TCU men’s tennis enters this weekend with a 5-0 record after securing a victory over Michigan State.
The Horned Frogs take on No. 3 Texas in Austin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, before returning home to battle Florida at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
With their eyes set on another ITA Indoor National Championship, the Frogs will look to build on their hot start to the season.
The rivalry between TCU and Texas is one of the best in college tennis, and Friday’s match will be no exception.
The last time these two teams met, TCU edged out Texas 4-3. More notably, TCU shutout the Longhorns 4-0 in the 2023 ITA tournament. That victory marked the Frogs second consecutive ITA title and made them the seventh program in the tournament’s 50-year history to achieve back-to-back championships.
The Horned Frogs fell just short in the 2024 ITA Championship final, losing a heartbreaking 4-3 match against Ohio State.
TCU enters Friday’s match with a powerhouse lineup featuring three players ranked in the ITA top 20. Pedro Vives, No. 6; Lui Maxted, No. 9 and Jack Pinnington, No. 18.
