The No. 16 TCU women’s golf team tied for fifth place at the Betsy Rawls Invitational on Tuesday amidst a challenging course and wind surge, making program record with their eighth consecutive top-five finish this season.
The Horned Frogs concluded the three-round tournament at UT Golf Club at 52-over-par 916, matching the 1998-99 squad for the most top-five finishes in a single season in program history.

Senior Meagan Winans led the Frogs with a ninth-place tie individually, shooting 9-over 225 (75-75-75) over the three rounds. Winans, a Richardson, Texas native showcased remarkable consistency with identical scores each day despite challenging conditions in the Texas Hill Country.
Winans recorded 10 birdies, second-most in the 78-player field, and dominated the par-3 scoring with a 2.92 stroke average, best among all competitors. The performance marked her fourth consecutive top-15 finish and third top-10 result of her career.
Junior Sofia Barroso Sá continued her steady play, finishing tied for 16th at 13-over. Barroso Sá collected 36 pars—the second-most in the field—en route to her team-leading seventh top-20 finish this season and 15th of her career.

Sophomore Kirstin Angosta and first-year Camille Min-Gaultier both tied for 25th at 16-over 232. Angosta made one of the tournament’s most impressive moves during Tuesday’s final round, climbing 13 spots on the leaderboard with a 3-over 75 that included birdies on the first and fifth holes.
First-year Gracie McGovern rounded out TCU’s lineup, finishing tied for 59th at 27-over 243 (79-83-81).
Tournament host and seventh-ranked Texas claimed the team title at 16-over 880, winning by 18 strokes over No. 13 LSU (+34). No. 2 Arkansas (+41) and No. 40 Tennessee (+43) finished third and fourth, respectively, while TCU shared fifth place with No. 34 Oklahoma.
The fifth-place result continues an extraordinary run of consistency for the Horned Frogs, who have not finished worse than sixth in any tournament this season. The streak includes three team championships, beginning with their victory at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in September.
The demanding UT Golf Club layout presented significant challenges throughout the event, with only tournament champion Texas posting an under-par round during Monday’s 36-hole. The Longhorns shot 2-under 286 in the opening round to establish a commanding lead.
After Monday’s round, TCU was one of only four teams in the 14-team field to place multiple players in the top 10 of the individual standings. After 36 holes, both Winans and Barroso Sá were tied for 10th at 6-over 150. Winans, who ranked second in the field in par-5 scoring at 4.75 strokes per hole, demonstrated her all-around game throughout the tournament. She now leads the team with birdies this season.
The Horned Frogs will conclude their regular season at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate, held home at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth on March 24-25. The event will serve as a final tune-up before postseason play begins.
