All residents of Molly Reid Hall (formerly GrandMarc) evacuated early Friday morning around 1 a.m. due to flooding on the 3rd floor.

“A sprinkler head triggered the fire alarm, and the sprinkler head caused significant water to leak from the third floor to the first and second floor,” Rachel Anne Hopper, the director of Housing and Residence Life, said in an email to the residents of Molly Reid North.
Once the TCU police department located the area of the flooding, officials permitted Molly Reid South residents to return to their dorm.
Molly Reid North residents were directed to the Tucker Technology Center to await live updates from Hopper. At 2:05 a.m., she announced that the water was turned off in the entire building, and teams were identifying the damage.
“We currently have TCU facilities, TCUPD, our Housing and Residence Life team and our water extraction company on site to support students and begin remediation,” Hopper said in an email at 3:44 a.m.
Officials permitted residents on floors 1, 4 and 5 to reenter the residence hall for the night as the teams identified the affected rooms.
This is a developing story.
