Letter to the Editor: Coach grateful for attendance

Published Nov 17, 2009

Dear TCU Community:

On behalf of our football program, I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support in providing a record crowd of over 50,000 Saturday night at Amon Carter Stadium. The energy and excitement on campus and throughout Fort Worth all week was outstanding, and our players fed off it. All of you make a difference for us!

With ESPN's College GameDay being here, we were able to put TCU and Fort Worth in the most positive light. We are especially grateful to Mayor Mike Moncrief proclaiming Friday "Go Purple Day."

Community should back Frogs all season long

Published Nov 13, 2009

It's a great year to be a Frog fan. The football team is currently No. 4 in the nation and garnering national attention. The university even sold out the Amon Carter Stadium for Saturday's game against the Utah Utes. Purple is in again.

But in reality, purple should have never gone out. Why is it that it took most of the semester to sell out the stadium? For that matter, why didn't the university even come close?

Emergency phone installed for better visibility

Emergency phone installed for better visibility

Published Nov 13, 2009

An emergency "blue light" phone that is taller than average has been installed in the main Worth Hills parking lot so that students can spot it more easily, a Physical Plant official said.

Harold Leeman, associate director of major projects, said the emergency phone in the main Worth Hills parking lot was made taller than the others because of the large number of SUVs parked in the lot.

"We were afraid that the normal phone might get hidden behind a car," Leeman said.
