TCU junior Edgar Crespo set a TCU record in the 200-breaststroke Saturday at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship inside the University of Minnesota's University Aquatics Center.

Crespo clocked a 1:57.91 in the 200-breast to place 30th overall in his first time to compete in the event at the NCAA meet. His time of 1:58.60 at this season's Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships was the previous TCU all-time mark.

Seniors Tassie Munroe and Kelsey Huffman both collected MVP accolades as No. 8 TCU defeated No. 4 Oklahoma State Saturday at October Hill Farm, 12-8.

The Horned Frogs bested the Cowgirls with an overall score of 1,507-1,496.5. TCU not only downed OSU for only the third time in program history Saturday, but also captured its second-straight victory over the Cowgirls at home. With the win, the Purple and White closed their regular season 7-4 overall and 5-1 at home, while Oklahoma State dropped to 6-4.

The TCU men's tennis fell on the road to No. 33 Rice 4-3, at the Jake Hess Tennis Center.

The Horned Frogs' jumped on the Owls early, taking a 1-0 advantage after claiming the doubles point. After splitting the first two matches at the second and third courts, TCU's top doubles duo of seniors Emanuel Brighiu and Christopher Price needed a tiebreaker set to take down the Owls' team of Harry Fowler and Oscar Padlewski, 9-8 (2).

Senior Jessica Young broke a school record as the TCU track and field program competed at the Arizona State Invitational Saturday at Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium.

Young rallied around the oval with a first-place time of 52.27 in the women's 400 meters, snapping Nathandra John's program record clocking of 52.31 from 2006. Young also shattered the ASU Invitational meet record, surpassing the former mark of 53.30 set by the Sun Devils' Joronda White in 1998. The Frogs' Kristal Juarez and Briyanni Thomas followed in the event in fifth and sixth place, respectively.

One church in Ohio, however, is cutting straight to the chase. For the second year in a row, Lindenwald Baptist Church will hand out $1,000 in hopes of boosting its Easter service attendance.

TCU students in the CEO Club and BNSF Next Generation Leadership Program in the Neeley School of Business are reaching out to a program that assists adults with autism.

Seniors McCall Grimes and Grant Eason are hosting "A Night With nonPareil" tonight as part of their legacy project in the Next Gen Program to raise awareness and support for nonPareil . The Next Gen Program sponsors the event.

After accepting an invitation to be a part of the regional spelling bee, TCU's College of Education will join the Fort Worth Star-Telegram to co-host the Star-Telegram Regional Championship Spelling Bee.

Mary Patton, dean of the College of Education, said the Star-Telegram invited TCU to participate, and the university accepted the offer.

"When we were approached with it, we were very excited about it," Patton said. "We think this is one way to support our young readers and writers and spellers in the state."

Members of the TCU Department of Theatre have spent 20 to 25 hours each week for over two months preparing for this year's spring musical, Richard Rodgers' and Oscar Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!", a classic story about prairie life, the Oklahoma land run and the settling of the West.

Harry Parker, chair of the theater department, said the cast has rehearsed, the costume studio has built over 100 costumes, the scenic studio has created scenery and props for the show and the lighting and sound designers have worked on the lights and tuned microphones.
