TCU equestrian's Fort Worth Stock Show Bowl against Baylor on Friday has been canceled due to weather conditions.It would have been the second annual Fort Worth Stock Show Bowl.

Last season the then No. 8 Frogs defeated Texas A&M 5-3 at the Stock Show. The Aggies were the defending national champions.

The Frogs, ranked No. 5 and 4-0 on the season, will next face Fresno State Feb. 13. TCU has won five-straight regular season matches, while Baylor (6-5) came off a loss to South Carolina on Sunday. Baylor will next face Texas A&M in College Station Feb. 12.

The winter storm that blew through Fort Worth Tuesday morning is still wrecking havoc on local schools and businesses.

Classes at TCU were cancelled for a third consecutive day when the university sent out a text message on TCU ALERT at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing until Saturday, when highs are projected to reach the upper 40s.

The TCU women's swimming and diving team will return to action Wednesday night when they travel to Denton for a 6 p.m. meet with the University of North Texas.

The meet will be the first of two final nonconference tune-ups for the Frogs this week before they make the trip to Oklahoma City for the Mountain West Championships February 22-26.

The TCU women will look to improve their 4-4 record by facing a Mean Green squad that has yet to win a meet; UNT is 0-9 in head-to-head action this season.

Even the chancellor loves a snow day

With more freezing rain and snow expected later in the week, Chancellor Victor Boschini might have another snow day or two.

For Boschini, last week's first snow day on Tuesday began at 3:44 a.m. with a call from Provost Nowell Donovan about class cancellations. He said he watched some news about the weather and headed into the office at about 9 a.m.

On the way, he passed two students sledding by Clark Hall in big plastic tubs.

No. 5 Horned Frogs beat Delaware State

The No. 5 Horned Frogs dominated at October Hill Farm in Sunday's match against Delaware State.

Three Frogs earned MVP accolades in the convincing 15-5 victory. TCU outscored the Hornets 1,550.5-1,428.5.

Senior Jessica Hagen was one of the riders given MVP honors, putting forth a strong effort in Equitation on the Flat.

Hagen posted a 94-72 win over DSU's Kayla Blair. The MVP accolades are the eighth of Hagen's career at TCU.

Sophomore Victoria Giachino and seniors Tassie Munroe and Milana Trimino also tallied victories in Equitation on the Flat.

Frog Leg Pedometer challenges faculty and staff to improve health

The Frog Leg Pedometer Challenge, which began Monday, will provide a way to improve the overall health of TCU faculty and staff in a competitive and fun manner, Susan Oakley, a human resources manager, said.

Employees use pedometers to track how many steps they take each day, and log their results on the Employee Self Service website to win prizes, Oakley said.

Prizes have not yet been announced, but will be awarded weekly beginning March 7. Grand prizes will be awarded shortly after the challenge ends March 13, Oakley said.

After a weekend of spring-like weather, Fort Worth is preparing for freezing temperatures after a winter storm warning for Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

"We are expecting a strong cold front to move through late Monday night, and it will push temperatures to below freezing before daybreak," said Jesse Moore, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service.

Rain was expected Tuesday morning and would change to freezing rain and sleet by daybreak, Moore said. Then it will most likely change over to a mixture of sleet and snow by late morning.
