Men’s tennis holds effort to increase match fan attendance

The men's tennis team has hopes that community involvement will help them increase attendance at home matches, the team's coach said.

Head men's tennis coach David Roditi said he put a plan in action to raise attendance at home matches. The team set a goal to have 1,000 fans in attendance at a home match.

Senior tennis player Zach Nichols said the goal stemmed from Roditi, also a former TCU tennis player, and the experience he gained while on the team. When Roditi played, the team was top 10 in the nation and had a large number of people at their matches.

The population of chickens in the U.S. cannot possibly keep up with the growing world demand. We must all, therefore, conserve our consumption of chickens. Buy only one chicken for the family at Popeye's. Eat more tofu chicken.

For Nikola Cerina, basketball isn't just a pastime. The 6-foot-9-inch sophomore power-forward for the TCU men's basketball team used his talent to transcend the war and violence that raged around him for most of his young life.

Cerina's hometown, more than 5,800 miles away in Topola Oplenac, Serbia, has experienced one conflict after another since declaring independence from Yugoslavia in 1991.

"Growing up in Serbia, there were a lot of bad things going on," Cerina said. "I've been through two wars so it wasn't fun, but I managed to find some escape in basketball."

As college football fans, we want our team to be No. 1. Last Friday, college football witnessed the takedown of a good football team in Boise State.

BSU had a legitimate shot at the national title if a few things bounced their way. Now after Nevada's 34-31 comeback against BSU, it's up to TCU to bring home the famed Coaches' Trophy. But as TCU pursues this dream, they must realize they are not alone. They have picked up a new, unexpected fanbase.
