Men’s basketball ready for the challenge of Big East

Published Dec 2, 2010

Men's basketball head coach Jim Christian said the TCU's conference change to the Big East has generated excitement within the program and a readiness to compete.

"Our kids are excited about it, our fans are excited about it and obviously I'm excited about it," Christian said.

The men's basketball team, however, was questioned by many as to whether the program was developed enough to play on the same level as the other teams in the Big East.

Every program across the country has gone through cycles of highs and lows, Christian said.

Athletic director, Del Conte, deserves praise

Published Dec 1, 2010

It's easy to praise an athletic director when times are good. Chris Del Conte arrived at TCU just a couple months before the football team went to its first BCS bowl, and about a month after that the baseball team began a season that ended in Omaha.

Times were good.

And now, about 13 months after Del Conte's arrival, times have legitimately never looked better for TCU athletics. And Del Conte is to thank for that.

Miami Heat lacks teamwork, sportsmanship

Who needs to man up this week? The Miami Heat.

The Heat have gotten off to a slow start this year and have lost four of their last six games. This is a team that had huge expectations coming into the season after adding two superstars, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, to compliment Dwayne Wade.

So who is to blame for this unexplainable start? Sure you can blame their head coach, Erik Spoelstra, but if you have three superstars playing on the same team, it shouldn't matter who the coach is.
