Parade Magazine ranked TCU as a top 20 large private college as well as a top 20 business and accounting school in its College A-List, which will be published Sunday. According to the website, Parade asked top high school counselors across the nation to recommend the schools that often fly "under the radar" for the survey.

The A-List colleges were broken down into 16 different categories, and the survey contained over 300 colleges, according to the website.

MWC approaches Fresno and Nevada

Mountain West Conference has confirmed previous reports that it has extended invitations to Fresno State and Nevada for the 2011 season, according to ESPN Dallas.

Brigham Young University intends to announce they will be leaving the conference in a press conference Thursday, to become an independent in football and a member of the Western Athletic Conference for all other sports. This followed the University of Utah's departure to the Pac 10 earlier this summer.

SMU's Ford Field will hold the Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 30 due to the official announcement of renovations to Amon G. Carter Stadium, a university media representative said.

Mark Cohen, athletics media relations director, said Monday that the $105 million renovation of the stadium would begin immediately afterthe final home game of the 2010 season on Nov. 13.



Cohen said the teams and bowl activities would still be based in Fort Worth. The only difference would be that the game would be played in Dallas.

The $105 million renovation of Amon G. Carter Stadium, the first major upgrade since 1956, will begin immediately after the final home game of the 2010 season on Nov. 13, officials said Monday.

Athletics Director Chris Del Conte said the renovation, unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees in April, was an investment for the continued success of the football program.

Horned Frogs rack up watch lists and honors

A total of seven Frog football players have received preseason All-America honors from various organizations, with six Horned Frogs appearing on watch lists for national awards; Head coach Gary Patterson is also up for an honor.

Senior quarterback Andy Dalton has been added to two watch lists honoring the nation's top football players: the Walter Cmap Football Foundation's 30 "Players to Watch" list and the 2010 Maxwell Award.

A preseason All-American, Dalton also appears on watch lists for the Davey O'Brien Award, Manning Award and Johnny Unitas Award.



Dalton is the nation's leader in wins (29) by an active quarterback. His 29 victories also tie him with Slingin' Sammy Baugh (1934-36) for the most in TCU history.

CollegeFootballNews.com has ranked TCU quarterback Andy Dalton as the top player in the Mountain West Conference.

Four other Horned Frogs are among the top 30 players in the league. Wide receiver/return specialist Jeremy Kerley was listed fourth. Offensive tackle Marcus Cannon was 12th, linebacker Tank Carder 14th and center Jake Kirkpatrick 22nd.



Dalton is a preseason All-American who appears on watch lists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, Manning Award and Johnny Unitas Award.
