The men's tennis team was unable to get a victory this weekend. The loss put the Frogs below the .500 mark with two weeks to prepare for their road match against the No. 21 LSU Tigers.The Horned Frogs (1-2), were defeated Sunday afternoon by the Texas A&M Corpus-Christi Islanders (1-2) at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

"We had great chemistry in the doubles matches," head coach Dave Borelli said. "Corpus Christi is a good team and much better than its ranking."

School should tap into gas revenues

The university is sitting on a gold mine.Administrators are involved in negotiations with local companies to tap into a pocket of natural gas sitting below campus.

The same situation is occurring across Fort Worth as companies hurry to tap into the Barnett Shale, a natural gas resource that stretches through several Texas counties.

Companies hope to not only purchase mineral rights from the university, they hope to utilize unused space on campus as drilling sites.

The Frogs continued plugging away in the stat book Saturday night with double digit performances by three players.
Forwards Femi Ibikunle, Kevin Langford and Alvardo Parker all managed to score at least 10 points, but the result was the same as the previous eight games: a loss. "It's frustrating when you have a good game and lose," said Langford who had 22 points on the night. "I'd rather have a mediocre game and win."

The Lady Frogs are in the midst of a three game winning streak after toppling the Air Force Falcons today.

The Frogs kicked off their first of three straight home games with a 86-48 win over the Falcons, but started off slow again in the first half.



"Missed defensive plays and a lackluster effort on the glass had me questioning their focus," head coach Jeff Mittie said about the Frog's first half.

The dance department received a special treat Thursday when the Texas Ballet Theater held its rehearsal for the company's upcoming production, "Romance to Ragtime," at the Ballet and Modern Dance Building.Heather Bays, a sophomore ballet and modern dance major, was among the students in attendance.

"It really allowed us to catch a glimpse of their life and work and what it's like to dance in the professional world," Bays said. "It was nice to see them mess up and just shake it off the way they did."

Brite hosts annual ministry event

More than 300 ministers and religious leaders from around the U.S. gathered at TCU this week to explore contemporary issues within the religious community.The event, begun in Texas in 1888, was first held at TCU in 1944. Now, Minister's Week is held in cities around the U.S. The Brite Divinity School, the TCU religion department and University Christian Church sponsored the events throughout the week.

Honor societies present AIDS benefit concert

Students from all four fine arts departments are presenting an AIDS benefit concert to convey one message: it's here in the United States.Alpha Psi Omega, the theater honor society on campus, has teamed with Chi Tau Epsilon, the dance honor society, to present the TCU Arts Collaboration Benefit Concert benefiting the Tarrant County AIDS Outreach Center.

AIDS can affect anyone, said Marisa Doerfler, a senior theatre major and chairwoman of Alpha Psi Omega.

Skiff staff writer Kimberly Burton had the chance to interview Gaspard Ulliel, the star of "Hannibal Rising." Ulliel plays a teenage Hannibal Lecter in the newest prequel to the Hannibal movies. French actor Ulliel has also starred in the 2004 international film "A Very Long Engagement." This is Ulliel's first major American film.

Q: What was it like stepping into this role?

A: It was scary. Coming after Anthony Hopkins is not an easy thing. It is also frightening, being French. It (the character) is very addictive.


ADPi raises money with ‘mocktail’ contest

The event, which raises money for the Ronald McDonald House, comprises 20 Greek and non-Greek organizations dressing up as part of a group's collective theme and making "mocktails" to be judged later in the evening.

The Lady Frogs are building another conference winning streak after pulling away with a win against Colorado State on Wednesday.Despite a losing road record this season, the win in Fort Collins, Colo., increased the team's Mountain West Conference record to 7-3 as the Frogs start looking toward the conference tournament in March.

"We had another roll game, which is big for us," said senior forward Hanna Biernacka.

Body Worlds exhibit in Dallas offers realistic depiction of body

The exhibit is currently on display at the Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas.
