I've been making Texas-style beer can chicken on my grill for about 20 years. A few years ago, I decided to try a new twist on a family favorite by using wine instead of beer and fresh herbs instead of a dry rub.

Crespo clocks new school record in 200-breaststroke, places 30th overall

TCU junior Edgar Crespo set a TCU record in the 200-breaststroke Saturday at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship inside the University of Minnesota's University Aquatics Center.

Crespo clocked a 1:57.91 in the 200-breast to place 30th overall in his first time to compete in the event at the NCAA meet. His time of 1:58.60 at this season's Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships was the previous TCU all-time mark.

Seniors Tassie Munroe and Kelsey Huffman both collected MVP accolades as No. 8 TCU defeated No. 4 Oklahoma State Saturday at October Hill Farm, 12-8.

The Horned Frogs bested the Cowgirls with an overall score of 1,507-1,496.5. TCU not only downed OSU for only the third time in program history Saturday, but also captured its second-straight victory over the Cowgirls at home. With the win, the Purple and White closed their regular season 7-4 overall and 5-1 at home, while Oklahoma State dropped to 6-4.

Frogs finish series with 9-1 win over Houston

After No. 14 TCU (15-8) allowed 17 runs in the first two games of the weekend series against Houston (12-13), senior starting pitcher Steven Maxwell evened out the Cougars' weekend runs per game average by matching his career high with 10 strike outs in a 9-1 Frogs win.

Maxwell (3-0) pitched six innings, allowing three hits while Cougars' starting pitcher Codey Morehouse (2-3) only lasted one inning, allowing seven runs on five hits and walking three Frogs.

Frogs rally to defeat Cougars 16-10

A seven run inning proved to be the catalyst for TCU as the No. 14 HornedFrogs rebounded from Friday night's heartbreaker to overcome the Cougars 16-10. After Houston scored five runs in the fifth. Senior relieverTrent Appleby called the win "the type of game that can show you what this team is capable of when it doesn't give up." Appleby picked up the win in a five inning relief effort and Jordan Mannisto was tagged with his first loss of the season for Houston. The game was sloppily played, with five errors apiece for both sides.

Hunger Week opens with annual Kanstruction

Thousands of canned goods will be unloaded by the helpful hands of volunteers at the Brown-Lupton University Union for the fifth annual Kanstruction, the opening event for TCU's Hunger Week, an event official said.

Senior theater major Katie Caruso said Hunger Week, celebrating its 29th anniversary this year, at the university has raised awareness and supported families and individuals who unable to purchase food. According to the Hunger Week flier, the event will benefit the Tarrant County Area Food Bank.

Crespo continues competition in NCAA Men?s Swimming and Diving Championship

TCU junior Edgar Crespo placed 20th in the 100-breaststroke Friday afternoon at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship inside the University of Minnesota's University Aquatics Center.

The Panama City, Panama, native clocked a 53.50 in preliminary competition to narrowly miss out on a trip to the finals and All-America laurels. The top 16 swimmers in the prelims advanced to the evening finals.

"He got out fast," TCU coach Richard Sybesma said. "He just took a short stroke into the finish instead of pushing in to the wall."

Finally, Facebook "stalkers" may have helped someone out.

Facebook users employ it as a distraction, a photo album, a networking tool and even sometimes as a joke. Never would I have thought that Facebook could potentially be a life-saver as well.

According to a March 18 Associated Press article, Nitesh Bhakta, a 20-year-old Georgia college student, saved his family from masked intruders when he asked for help via his Facebook status.
