More than 400 TCU lettermen from every decade since the 1930s will be in attendance when the Frogs attempt to defend Amon G. Carter Stadium as it is known one last time Saturday, head football coach Gary Patterson said.

TCU will take on the San Diego State University Aztecs, who are bowl eligible for the first time since 1998. The Aztecs have only lost two games this season, both by just three points. They are currently positioned just outside the Top 25.

TCU football old-timers, those who remember the not-so-distant era before double-digit wins and BCS conversation, appreciate the success the Horned Frogs program has had this season. A common lament, though, from the company of enduring fans is current students' lack of celebration over the team's present success.

Head coach Gary Patterson said he has a goal on Saturday for the crowd to get involved in the last game at Amon G. Carter Stadium before the university begins its $105 million renovation.

"I want it to be so loud that they have to go silent count for the whole four quarters," Patterson said at a weekly media luncheon.

Over 400 TCU letter winners from every decade since the 1930s will be on the field during halftime of the game, Patterson said. TCU great Jim Swink and 1984 Heisman Trophy candidate Kenneth Davis may be in attendance, among others.

As part of the first generation born into communist East Germany, Uwe Kolbe became one of the most famous living German poets by writing about his discontent with communism, said Scott Williams, associate professor of German.

Kolbe will speak at both the Live Oak Reading Series tonight, and in three German classes today and Friday.
