Lambert kiss was a freedom of expression

Published Dec 1, 2009

People were shocked at Adam Lambert's so called "controversial" performance at the American Music Awards last weekend. The flashy performance included a same-sex kiss (Lambert is openly gay), and a few seconds where oral sex was simulated with one of the dancers and a middle finger. Lambert admitted he got "carried away" when he was performing, and because of the late hour (late enough to avoid any FCC fines, according to RollingStone.com) he didn't think it was a big deal.

Following TCU's 51-10 win over the University of New Mexico, head coach Gary Patterson's wife, Kelsey, was about the only person in the media room for the post-game press conference who wasn't completely happy with the result.

"He's sticky!" Kelsey Patterson said of her husband. "Why can't they use water?"

Coach Patterson's Gatorade shower was sticky and deserved after his football team's historic 12-0 season.

"We finally did it," Patterson said to lead off the post-game press conference.

Alcohol violations show lack of restraint

Published Nov 24, 2009

Given that alcohol violations have increased 70 percent this fall as compared to last, it is abundantly clear that students living on campus need to exercise more discretion in their consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Such a marked increase in the occurrence of the violations shows that dorm room get-togethers and groups returning from a night out are quickly evolving into loud nuisances to other residents of on-campus living facilities.
