Though the women's basketball team is coming off an exhibition rout, the head coach does not want the team to get too ahead of themselves, a senior guard said.With one victory under their belt, the Lady Frogs will face Radford University in round one of the Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament on Friday.

Head coach Jeff Mittie said this will be the second time in his career at TCU to participate in the tournament. He led the Lady Frogs to round two of the tournament in his first year as head coach in 1999.

Despite a slow start, the men's basketball team found its rhythm Saturday.After trailing for most of the first half, the Horned Frogs would respond with a strong second-half performance en route to an 89-70 victory on opening night against Angelo State at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

At the beginning of the game, the Rams led by seven points and kept ahead of the Horned Frogs throughout the first half.

Michael Pena spoke with Southern Methodist University students and TCU staff reporter Allie Brown about co-starring in Robert Redford's new drama, "Lions for Lambs", following its screening at SMU's Hughes-Trigg Theater. Pena said this film will reach out to youth in a positive way.Q: What is it about the film that jumps out and pleases you the most?

A: "I mean, just from a technical standpoint meshing everything - all the story lines and all the debates. I think that when I first read the script I was like 'Wow' Robert's going to have a good time trying to mesh it."

After an impressive outing against a conference foe, the men's and women's swimming and diving teams will welcome another conference opponent to the University Rec Center Saturday.The teams will face Wyoming at home, on the heels of a sweep against the Air Force Falcons last weekend.

With the men's team standing at 4-0 and the women's team at 4-2 heading into the weekend, head coach Richard Sybesma said the teams are looking at some close races on Saturday, but it could turn out to be a big conference victory for the teams.

Free: an idea that should help with the topping ceremony celebration for the new Brown-Lupton University Union.Chancellor Victor Boschini and Linbeck Construction project manager Tom Hale will gather with TCU students on the Milton Daniel lawn Monday to view the placing of the spire on top of the University Union clock tower and discuss the progress of the University Union.

The ceremony, which celebrates the topping of the tower, offers several free incentives for students.
