Beginning Tuesday, the Mary Couts Burnett Library will be open 24 hours a day for five days a week.

June Koelker, dean of the library, said because of the Labor Day holiday, the library will open at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning and will stay open continuously until Friday night at 8 p.m.

Normally. the library will open Sunday at noon and stay open continuously until Friday at 8 p.m.

Koelker said the Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. will go unchanged.

TCU's Phi Kappa Sigma chapter has lost its charter and been kicked out of its house, a university official said.

Josh Schutts, coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life and IFC adviser, said the decision was made by the national organization in conjunction with TCU this summer.

The soccer team remained undefeated and with no goals against after a 3-0 win over the Xavier Musketeers.

Another two goal performance from freshman Jordan Calhoun lifted the Frogs to their second victory in as many games. Calhoun's first goal came unassisted in the 17th minute beginning the Frog's scoring. She netted her second goal with two seconds remaining in the half off a hard return header into the box from freshman Alex Mechalske. A swift chip into the bottom left corner put the Frogs up 2-0 going into the half.

In a non-conference match in the Nike/Molten Invitational, the Horned Frogs utilized a strong front row attack and accurate passing to sweep the Lady Techsters 25-18, 25-21, 25-15 and open the season with a win.

After falling behind 5-0 in the first game, the Frogs got it together and cruised through the second and third games, tightening their passing and hitting along the way.

Junior Lauren Otto imposed her will from the left side to the tune of 14 kills and senior Devon Kirk pounded 9 kills from the middle.

TCU is hosting an inaugural student leadership summit starting today that will bring together student delegates from Mountain West Conference schools to discuss issues ranging from crisis management to greener campuses, summit organizers said.

The summit, which will take place today and Friday, is a result of a collaboration between TCU and the University of Utah, SGA president Thomas Pressly said.

Junior Donald Porterie will be back under center for the Lobos. Porterie threw for 3,000 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, compared with just nine interceptions.
