Carter ended the night with 43 points and added nine rebounds. The previous mark for most points in a game was set by Amy Sutton in 1999, who scored 39 points against Air Force.

Carter said she didn't know how many points she had during the game, and didn't know she broke the record.

Fan support shouldn’t be limited to football

Published Nov 18, 2010

Horned Frog fans have been criticized in the past for a lack of enthusiasm at our football games, but Amon G. Carter Stadium isn't the only sports complex on campus that sits less-than-full on game days.

Star-Telegram sports columnist Randy Galloway called us out before football season started this year and blatantly asserted that we don't have "big-time fan support." That sentiment often applies to other games, matches and meets that the Horned Frogs participate in.

Drum major expresses a passion to teach

Published Nov 18, 2010

The band marches out on the field at halftime as fans wait in anticipation. Hannah Harvey takes her place atop the drum major's podium and looks to the center drum major for her cue. Her hands begin floating through the air in identical formation with the other two drum majors. The modest chimes that begin in the percussion section gradually flourish as other sections of the 200-member band join in.

Staying in sync visually is the key to keeping the band in time, Harvey said. With a band as large as the Horned Frog Marching Band, it's easy for a section to lose tempo.
