Rebels beat Lady Frogs at tourney

The Lady Frogs were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday in the opening round by the Mississippi Rebels, putting TCU's season to an end. The 22-10 Rebels, who were the No. 7 seed in the Dayton Regional, sent the No. 10-seeded Lady Frogs home from Connecticut with an 88-74 loss.

It was Ole Miss' first NCAA Tournament win since 1994, and TCU's first time not to advance to the second round in five of the last six seasons.

Many college students listen to music while multitasking with many other activities: doing their homework, walking to class or driving their cars. Pitchers Jake Arrieta and Taylor Cragin led the Horned Frogs (13-6) to victory as they shut out the Air Force Falcons 6-0 Friday night to open Mountain West Conference play at Lupton Stadium. Arrieta kept the Falcons'(5-16) quiet striking out 11 and allowing only four hits through eight innings.

The only problem Arrieta and Cragin seemed to have from time to time was finding the strike zone. The two walked a combined six players.

"We've been walking way too many guys," Arrieta said.

Islam supports the fair treatment of women in education and the workforce, a panel of Islamic women from the Fort Worth community said Thursday.Saddyna Belmashkan, president of the Muslim Student Association, asked several members of her mosque, Masjid Al Ibraheemi, to discuss women's rights in Islam as part of Thursday's Professional Women in Islam panel discussion. Panelists answered questions for about one hour.

The status of women in Islam and the hijab were some of the other topics discussed by the panel as a part of the first annual Islamic Awareness Week.
