Fuzzy’s going green with beer helps local business

In light of the "greening" culture in our community, you might be trying to figure out all the little things you can do in your daily life to live more sustainably. However, you probably didn't realize your choice of beers could lower your carbon footprint.

Thanks to Fuzzy's Taco Shop offering their new Baja Blond on tap, you can choose a locally-brewed beer over a traditional domestic or imported brew. Baja Blond was first served at the Fuzzy's location in Denton, according to General Manager Shawn Phillips.

No. 20 TCU posted their fifteenth win of the season Wednesday night after a dominating 78-51 performance at home against the Colorado State University Rams.

The Lady Frogs led 37-23 at halftime, and sustained their lead by marking a three-point field goal percentage of 71.4 in the last 20 minutes.



TCU finished strong with a 78-51 victory.
Ten different TCU players had the chance to add on to the score, at one point leading by 33 points.

It is a common misconception that young people are uninvolved or unaware of national issues or economic plights. With the nation deep in a recession, this is the opposite of the truth. The university has added Ghana to its ever-growing list of study abroad destinations.

Komla Aggor, director of the Ghana Summer Study Abroad Program, said that even though students may be hesitant to go to Africa instead of popular European destinations, Africa will be a refreshing experience because it is a lesser known continent.



"There are many students that are really familiar with European countries, but this is a new ground we are breaking, a new ground now for students to diversify their knowledge and find out the facts (about Ghana)," Aggor said.

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream to see society strive for acceptance and diversity. Members of the selection committee for the university's Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship said they are trying their best to preserve that dream.

Committee members said they are working hard to make sure the university community knows that the 28-year-old scholarship is still in existence, and they are seeking to increase funding and support from university faculty and staff.
