Several students left Daniel-Meyer Coliseum with mixed emotions Sunday night. As proud as these Frog Fans were of their football team to be picked to play in a BCS bowl game, they were less enthusiastic about the matchup.

"Regardless of who we are playing, that's a great accomplishment for the Horned Frogs," said Jimmy Hopper, a senior history major and 2009 Mr. TCU. "It is already generating a lot of national publicity, as the country wants to see the two non-BCS powers go head-to-head."

Some students felt frustration about the BCS.

Many TCU fans plan on traveling to Glendale, Ariz. to watch TCU play Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 4.

Seniors Melissa Mackey and Brittany Moore plan to fly to Arizona with a group of about 20 friends and family members and tailgate before the game. Makey and Moore had reserved airline tickets even before they knew the bowl game in which TCU would play.

For the spirited and faithful Horned Frog fans traveling to Arizona for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, the city of Glendale and surrounding areas provide activities and entertainment for everyone.

For those with a sweet tooth, Cerreta Candy Company in Glendale offers free tours of the family-owned candy shop. Guided tours start at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, and each tour lasts approximately 30 minutes. Visitors can also take a self-guided tour Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The BCS No. 4 Horned Frogs will play in their first BCS bowl in team history on Jan. 4 against fellow unbeaten and BCS-buster No. 6 Boise State. TCU beat the Broncos 17-16 in last year's San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

Tony Alba, director of media relations for the Fiesta Bowl, said the bowl chose TCU with the second selection in the BCS.

"We felt it was very difficult to overlook and bypass a very highly-ranked, very exciting team that was undefeated," Alba said.

TCU hosted its first-ever BCS bowl selection show Sunday night in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. An estimated 3,500 fans cheered when it was announced that the BCS No. 4 Horned Frogs will be going to the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.

There were mixed emotions about playing No. 6 Boise State for the second year in a row. Quarterback Andy Dalton had only positive comments about the pick.

"(TCU is) in a BCS game, there is nothing to complain about," Dalton said, "We are going out to (Arizona to) make a statement."
