I have flown halfway around the world to begin what could be one of the most influential experiences of my life.

Studying abroad this semester, I'm shacked up in a suburb of Perth, Western Australia (and quite glad to be). I came prepared to soak in all of their environmental practices that I will be able to import to the United States. In the few days I have been here exploring, I have found the green movement in play here through packed public transit systems and solar panels everywhere. But most surprising is the lack of air conditioning.

In response to the editorial in Thursday's paper regarding the RIAA: While I agree that children should be dancing in the streets because the RIAA has finally come to grips with the reality that their policies aren't panning out as a long-term strategy, the proposed solution of the editorial board makes even less sense. For the sake of my argument, I won't even touch the numbers (music sales haven't dropped dramatically), but just address the proposed strategy.

The Flyin' Frogs will head to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday and Saturday, the last meet before the Mountain West Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships later this month.

Head coach Darryl Anderson said athletes headlining the event include junior Jessica Young, senior Kishelle Paul, senior Jessica Clarke and junior Neidra Covington for the women and sophomore Mychal Dungey, sophomore Sean Zurko, junior Dell Guy and sophomore Matthew Love on the men's side.

The No. 34-ranked men's tennis team will pack its bags and head to Norman to face the University of Oklahoma on Saturday.

Dave Borelli, the team's head coach, said the Sooners retooled this year and are probably better than they were last season.

"Even though they are only No. 73, I actually think they are a top-30 team," he said.

Borelli said he doesn't care as much about rankings as he does a team's overall performance.

Citing budget restraints, RealWorld, the first student-run nonprofit advertising agency in the nation, announced it would close its doors unless the university raises $100,000.

RealWorld aids the advertising needs of nonprofit organizations in the community at a significantly discounted price. For years, students participating in the program have been gaining valuable experience working with clients and developing advertisements.

The program serves both students and the local community, and every possible effort should be made to keep it from going under.

Weekend match a preview of things to come for club tennis

The club tennis team will be playing at the Baylor Warm-Up in Waco on Saturday in what will be a preview of sectionals later this spring season.

The events include men's and women's singles and doubles with TCU challenging three different colleges in match play.

This weekend's tournament lives up to its name, said junior Megan Dewar, as a lot of the same teams like Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Austin will face off against TCU at sectionals.

It may have been Valentine's Day, but the men's basketball team didn't get cards or chocolates from the Brigham Young Cougars. All the Horned Frogs received was an extension of their losing streak, which is now six games long.

The Horned Frogs led for less than two minutes early in the first half, but BYU quickly turned the tables and never looked back, going on to win 79-63.

Head basketball coach Jim Christian said the Cougars are a very good offensively and overall a well-disciplined team.
